5 Stars A Must for 2-1/2 Year Old
Perfect for a 2-1/2 year old boy who likes challenges. Melissa and Doug puzzles are very durable and of good quality. He started with the 12-piece puzzles and has a 48-piece waiting for him. It won’t be long before he’ll be ready.

Fun, durable puzzle. The pieces are a little hard to fit together for a child under three.

5 Stars Durable and fun
My daughter got this puzzle when she just turned a year old and she has used and abused it… but you would never know it. Melissa & Doug products really hold up and stand the test of toddlers. Yes they are more expensive than some others, but who cares? THEY LAST. I will be able to keep their products around for my next several children. My daughter has since mastered this puzzle so we are moving up to the 24 and 48 piece Melissa & Doug puzzles, but I know they will hold up as well.

This is a marvelous puzzle for a toddler. I was amazed at the sturdiness of the puzzle pieces when it arrived. The pieces can withstand a lot of handling. The size of each piece makes it very easy for a toddler to find. The colors and artistry is eye-catching. This is a quality item and I would definitely recommend it.

As with all Melissa & Doug products I have purchased. The puzzles are great. I have very physical grandchildren yet these wooden puzzles hold up amazingly well. As with the cardboard puzzles the face of the puzzle tends to pull up from use & kids putting them in their mouths. These puzzles can hold up to the challenge. They are extremely durable, I have purchased three more of the Melissa & Doug puzzles. You won’t be disappointed.

5 Stars Great puzzles
My son is a young 3 and absolutely loves this boxed puzzle set. He had only played with different types of peg puzzles before receiving this set, so it has been quite exciting for him to learn how to put the 12 piece puzzles together. He feels so proud when he completes a puzzle all by himself and because he loves cars/trucks so much it is also very rewarding for him to see a cool fire truck, bus, train or race car in the finished product! This puzzle helps to build confidence, teaches strategic thinking and requires concentration from my little guy… great purchase!

I purchased this set for my 2 year old grandson, he loves the fire engine. It is still a little difficult for him but he does make an attempt to put the pieces together. He doesnt get frustrated but does need help.

My 2 yo loves this box-o-fun. He can clean up and organize the pieces all by himself because each different puzzles’ pieces have their own symbol on the back. Great for toddlers too old for chunky puzzles but intimidated by too many pieces.

My 2.5 yr old son loves these puzzles. I showed him the ropes a few times and now he sits and does all 4 one after another by himself. They are wood so they are holding up pretty well despite rough treatment, though the images are wearing away around the edges a little. We’re going to get another set or two–it’s a nice obsession.

5 Stars 3 year old grandson loves it!!
I ordered this puzzle set for my 3 year old grandson, along with some other puzzles. This is the one that he goes for everytime he is at my house. He loves it!! The box that holds the puzzles is just so neat and the top is sort of inset, so that it makes a nice place to work one of the puzzles. Each puzzle has its own compartment in the box also, which makes it very organized. Great buy!!!

We love Melissa and Doug puzzles. They are sturdy and last longer than other puzzles. I wish there was a picture for my son to go off of but he seems to be doing OK without it. Love the cute pirate theme!

When i opened the box and saw this puzzle, i was so impressed with the quality and durability. The colors are vivid. the pieces are not tiny and thin, they are a good size and very thick, can take abuse. My step-grandson loved it. The best part, he can’t destroy it, he is very hard on his toys, but this will hold up. I would buy Melissa and Doug products again and i would recommend this product to anyone. Excellent puzzle and great price.

5 Stars beautifully engaging puzzle
I recently started purchasing puzzles for my 3 year old and found it difficult to find out that was both visually captivating and durable. My 3 year old daughter was drawn to puzzles that had the everyday cartoon characters and found great entertainment in putting them together. As soon as she saw this puzzle she was drawn in by the beautiful picture it displayed. The colors were vibrant and appealing to the eye. The only issue I had with it was that due to the fact that is was brand new it was difficult to take the puzzle pieces apart as they are wooden. Once you have unassembled it and used it frequently the pieces get easier to put together. The fact that it has a wooden frame to help hold the puzzle in place was a big plus for my daughter. I purchased quite a few of the Doug and Melissa puzzles and she was captured by the unconventional illustrations which she was not used to.

4 Stars Worth the money
This puzzle is well made and the graphics are just brilliant. My 3 year old grandson enjoyed the picture but did need assisstance to assemble.

the wood has broken around the puzzle and some of the puzzle have brooken and the picture is coming off them as well

3 Stars Pricey & Flimsy Puzzle
I was disappointed in this puzzle. It didn’t seem to be up to Melissa & Doug’s usual high standards. The puzzle pieces were flimsier than I thought they would be, hard to separate and hard to push down into place. However, the artwork is beautiful and I think my 3 yr old will enjoy it in the near future.

4 Stars Great puzzle with minor quality flaws
I really think that M&D do a great job with puzzles for kids. The colors and graphics are pretty and my 2 1/2 year old son loves it. He opened yesterday and spent at least 2 hours playing with it. He even took it to his room because he didn’t want to stop playing and this morning he was ready to take it to school. I just have a minor observation about the low quality of the laminate in some of the pieces. When he tries to pull some of pieces, the laminate starts peeling. I just hope the they don’t come fully apart. He seems to have a blast so I want to order a second one….

3 Stars Beautiful but not durable
We bought this puzzle as a Christmas present for our two year old. The problem with this puzzle was evident as soon as we got it out of the package. While the back of the puzzle is wooden (like other M&D puzzles), the picture was printed on paper and adhered to the wood before the pieces were cut. When we disassembled the puzzle for the first time, we didn’t notice that the puzzle pieces didn’t get gut all the way through the paper, so when we separated the pieces the paper got torn, taking some of the design with it. We were very disappointed, especially considering the quality of product we’ve grown accustomed to receiving when purchasing M&D products. Our son still likes it and plays with it fairly often.

5 Stars Solid, Pretty, Educational puzzle
I got this puzzle for my 3 yr old last week after getting frustrated with a different puzzle from a different brand that was flimsy. This puzzle is nicely made from thick wood. The pieces still stay together unlike the cheaper brands with which we have played. The colors are attractive for a toddler, pretty for an adult, and the puzzle is great for reviewing the names of animals with a toddler.

I plan on ordering similar puzzles from Melissa and Doug in the future.
