4 Stars Great Set But Not Without It’s Problems
This is a cool set.It has a great amount of pieces for the price.I thoroughly enjoyed putting the cockpit together.It’s one fault however is in the flimsiness in the wings.Yes,the wings will come off especially if your giving this to a small child.If your a collector this problem is easily solved by adding extra parts to strengthen the wings.Also if you have no intention of ever taking it apart invest in some superglue and that will solve your problem.I feel that if it did have these issues this definitely could have been one of the greatest Star Wars sets to come out in a long time. It’s great for display though and it comes with a super awesome Darth Vader figure!

4 Stars Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter
It is awesome to me!!!!!! I spend all my time playing with it. It was a very challenging set to build. I hope they lower the price for the set so other kids can get it too!!

1 Star Beautiful look, but it falls apart at little more than a touch
I find it hard to understand why at Lego Design Headquarters they can come up with so many beautifully engineered sets, so that a youngster can assemble and learn from that effort, yet not understand that a child will want to play with the set too.

Assemble this Tie-fighter and let a child play a little with it and the wings come off. The arms that connect to the inner sides of the large wings are really narrow, with the wings held on by only 2 or 3 points. If the child playing with this set is really unlucky, more comes apart than the wings. The set will even disassemble when you are trying to install Darth onto his seat.

If you won’t become frustrated by having to reassemble this set basically every time your child plays with it, until you’re nearly blue-in-the-face, then go ahead.

Otherwise, I’d look elsewhere for a Tie-fighter.

I don’t know too much about the star wars saga, but my son knows everything about it! and that’s enough for me.

He built the toy in 20 or 30 minutes

1 Star Disappointment!
Such a disappointment…I ordered this for my 3 year old grandson’s birthday. He loves Toy Story and I had already purchased for him a Woody doll. My complaint was NOT with the toy but the condition it was in. The clear plastic helmut was terribly scratched and some of the paint was missing from Buzz’s costume. Also, there was noticable dirt on the toy. It appeared to be a used toy that had already been returned. I am sure this toy would eventually end up looking like this one when it had been played with! As it was not an inexpensive toy, I returned it and didn’t want to gamble on receiving another one in the same condition. I will try to find it elsewhere.

it has no wings!!! i am so glad i noticed this right before i almost purchased it! how can a buzz lightyear not have wings!

my 2 year old loves it, I purchased it because he loves Toy Story and I thought it would be a good toy to use in his creative play, it is durable, proven by the was he has been flinging the toy around….he has fun with it, the wings don’t pop out, but that’s okay. As far as educational, it is part of his creative play, he has other educational toys for that, This one is a lot of fun.

4 Stars Very durable!
I bought this for our four year old son for Christmas 2009. He loves it! While there is absolutely nothing he can “learn” from this toy, other than how to move Buzz’s hands, he enjoys playing with it. It is very durable and not fragile at all. The buttons work well, and it sounds and looks just like the character in the movie. I’m very pleased with this purchase, and so is my son!

5 Stars My grandsons LOVE this toy
I bought this for my grandson’s and it met and beat my expectations and

they love the toy. It is giving them hours of fun. The mechanical and

voice commands are awesome.

Simply put, this is a well-made and versatile toy. He has been a favorite in our home and is now being played with by baby #2.

Freddie is so bright and colorful! He has crunchy wings and chimes in his belly. Our daughter is teething and she just loves to chew on the little red lady bug that hangs from Freddie’s wing. I’m so glad we purchased Freddie the Firefly!

4 Stars This is a complete activity center in itself!
I love this toy – and my 4 month old loves it too. Right now I place it at his feet and he loves to lift them up and let them fall over and over again on the crinkly wings. I know he will eventually discover all the fun parts of this firefly!

I bought this for a friends 4 month old and he loved it. He was fascinated by the noises, colors and all the things he could grab. Highly recommend this as I do other Lamaze products.

5 Stars superb first toy
This was the first toy to which my son visibly reacted in happy recognition, and a year later it is still a favorite. As a “flying bug” it lends itself to older kids and adults sort of zooming it around Baby’s head and then squeaking it or clacking it, to Baby’s delight. I was surprised at how young my little boy was when he started investigating the peek-a-boo mirror and the crinkly wings. The bright colors and happy face on the front, and the black-and-white patterns on the back, really do attract and keep Baby’s attention. We received this second-hand from someone who told me it was very heavily used at their house as well, so it is amazingly sturdy. It also cleans up very nicely with a little dish-soap and water on the surface; the fabrics seem to be engineered so stuff doesn’t really stick in the fabric at all. Also the little mirror is not nearly as scratched as one would expect after multiple children deliberately scratching it with car keys (yes we are never supposed to give our real keys to Baby but we may as well Confess! we have all been desperate enough to do it some time or other). After what is now several years of abuse, although he looks just as bright as ever, the stitching holding his clacking rings on his tail disintigrated, but I easily just cut the thread with a scissors and the rings are now among my son’s very favorite bath toys. Other similar rings are ignored. He claps these rings together and puts them inside or over other toys endlessly, and I’m convinced he’s so fond of these specific rings because they came from this firefly. Now at a year old he has just got the hang of putting the red teether back in its pocket and spends an amazing amount of time inserting the edge of his blanket or t-shirt through the gap in the top holder ring. He hasn’t yet figured out how to make the squeaker squeak and when he gets tired of trying he hands the toy to us with the squeaker up and ready, requesting it.

Got this for my 3 year old niece for her Birthday and she loves it. Its very girly with the wings and colors. It has a comb and I think a little head piece for the doll. She’s very into dolls so this one is a winner.

My twin boys, 5 months old, love this toy! It was one of the first toys they grabbed, the legs are really easy to get a hold of and they are the perfect size for little hands! The crinkle wings are a favorite, as are the clacker rings. We take this toy everywhere we go.

I am purchasing this toy for my 6 month daughter. I took her to Babies R Us this evening to buy her a set of keys that would entertain her as much as my keys. She was not interested in much but she loved this Buzz toy by Lamaze. I introduced her to a variety of toys while in the store and the only thing she wanted was Buzz. Each leg makes a unique sound or has a different texture. I did not buy the one in the store but I am buying from Amazon because it is less here. It amazed me how well this toy kept her attention.

We own this and it entertains my baby for a few minutes. She is very mobile right now (11 months old) and so she doesn’t like to sit in one place for long. We mainly use it in the car to keep her quiet.
