3 Stars Good for toddlers learning about animals
My daughter is one and loves animals and magnets, but these don’t hold her attention for very long. I like them for teaching her about animals and animal sounds, but she won’t play with them on her own. They are also too thin for her to easily take off the refrigerator and put them back on.

I also bought the LeapFrog Fridge Farm Magnetic Animal Set, and that’s much better for keeping her entertained on her own. (The pieces are chunkier and have optional sounds and music).

Overall, good images of animals but probably good for kids who are a little older.

I bought these for my children for Christmas. They are very nice. I think they would be very good for teaching animal names and sounds etc. If your child is teething it wouldn’t be very good as the front is just glosed paper glued to wood and then to magnet and will tear if chewed on. They stick to the refridge fine aand don’t slide around. They are not as fun to paly with as the abc magnets that are under this brand because you can only do so much with animals but they are enjoyed as well.

My only complaint is that the images are glued-on paper without a laminate layer over them. If your kids tend to dunk things, stick things in their mouths, etc, the images will not last long. Very cute though, nice variety of animals, and insofar as they have lasted my kids love them.

Fine quality magnet toys for a small play station on your frig is the perfect extra activity for a small child. Although these are recommended for older children, I use these with my grandchild at age 1, with high supervision. I sit next to this location to make sure nothing goes in her mouth. Since small children like making animal sounds and communicating by pointing, this makes for a nice game between grownup and child.

I was also happy to see that even the box is strongly made and splinter free for gathering pieces for the back and forth play.I would recommend it with the caution that children must be supervised at younger ages.

These horses are adorable. The wood case is very sturdy and great for display. On the back of the case there are descriptions of each horse. I would buy from this company again. The only thing that would improve the case is if it had a pre-drilled hole at the top so you could hang it on the wall.

I ordered this Melissa & Doug pasture pal set for my daughter for Christmas. She’s almost two and loves all things horses. I must admit both her and my son (3) love these horses and it may have in fact been the best gift (in their opinion) of the year.

I , on the other hand, am sorely disappointed. Melissa & Doug are one of my favorite toy makers so i was stunned to see how cheaply made and horrible these horses truly are. They are covered in some strange fuzz that my son now enjoys peeling off of the horses bodies.

I wish they would remake this set in plastic. I would happily purchase and give 5 stars if they were remade.

I’m a huge fan of Melissa and Doug toys so when I saw this dollset, I knew it would be perfect for my two-year-old. She has so much fun with this dollset. The only downside is that there is no cover for the box so we can’t just put this in the toybox when she’s done playing. We have to keep it on a shelf and we’ve already lost several pieces.

My daughter is 3 going on 4, and the paper dolls are hard for her to handle. She is just too rough for the paper dolls. This however is sturdy, and she can’t tear it up. I just don’t get it! Other than that it is a really cute dress up toy and the skirts and shoes and gloves are interchangeable between the sets (some tops are, not all). My two boys like it too!

We gave the Ultimate Lego Building Set to our grandson. He loves it. It does not tie him down to one project, but lets him use his imagination to build many things. He has a lego set that builds a truck, but once he had built the truck it sat there while he built things wit the Ultimate set.

This was the first set of legos that we purchased for our kids. Our kids loved it so much that we have purchased several other sets since then. This set includes 405 pieces and is a good set to start with building plate, mini people, windows, doors and wheels. Book contains pictures that show how to build about 30 different items. The tub is large enough to hold several additional sets. If you are thinking about purchasing this set then watch the price because some of the sellers on Amazon overprice these sets.

5 Stars Classic, great toy
I am under the impression that a lot of folks reviewing here are not particularly well acquainted with Lego in the context of the wider world of toys out there. They are expensive because the quality of construction is excellent. You do, invariably, get what you pay for. We buy Lego, Playmobil, PlanToys, etc. for our kids. These are all up there in the price bracket because they are durable and they fit together beautifully and consistently. My toddler son is now using my daughter’s old Duplos and they look just like they did when we bought them. We buy “junk” toys occasionally, such as Polly Pocket, and I usually regret it. I paid $30 for a Polly Pocket “RV” and it literally went to pieces after very gentle use in a matter of days. I threw the whole thing away after a couple of weeks and she didn’t care. My daughter will not remember that piece of junk when she is an adult but, like me, she will remember her Legos. I agree that there is quite a bit of space left over in this bucket, but you do see the piece count right on the package. Perhaps 400 sounds like a lot, but when it comes to Legos, yes, you do probably want more and the great thing is, with the excess room in the tub, you have room to add more pieces just like we did with her Duplo tub.

5 Stars Great blocks, great price
Once again, Amazon comes through for me. My son was having a “block party” theme for his second birthday and my wife wanted him to have more blocks. I found these on Amazon.com for an excellent price and even with the free super saver shipping, I got them before the end of the week!

The blocks themselves are sturdy and well finished. The wooden box is a nice touch, but it takes some work to fit the blocks back in after dumping them out. The blocks have enough weight that it really hurts when my son throws them at me. I enjoy building with the blocks as much as he does, so all around it was a great buy.

5 Stars The one toy every kid should have
Bought 2 of these sets for my two youngest children 1 and 3 for Christmas. They are great. My 8 and 10 year old play with them just as often as my younger two. Just like the blocks found in a school setting, very durable and the wooden box they come in in perfect for building on top of if flipped over or for sitting in if you are little enough. I might even buy another set since 60 blocks is perfect for 1 child but once they start wanting to build towers high enough to touch 9 foot ceilings . . . you need more!

I purchased these blocks for my 3-year old nephew for his birthday two months ago and he is still playing with them. He received several trucks and a toy piano, but he loves his blocks the best. They seem to spark his imagination.

Building blocks are one of the perfect toys for children of many ages. Our 3 year old twins, boy and girl, both love playing with these melissa and doug blocks. They are durable and a great size to build anything they can imagine with. It is nice that they are all the same color. We have some smaller M&D blocks that are in primary colors which are great to use as accents on whatever they build. You cannot go wrong with these blocks, a great toy. Most local toyshops ask about $59 for these, I paid $35 or so and with free shipping and no tax, it was a great find. Thanks Amazon.
