5 Stars educational
My girls were so excited to open this at Christmas time. They were excited to recognize earth. As they put the puzzle together they were kneeling on the pieces trying to get the pieces where they need to go. The puzzle seems to be very strong where kneeling on them won’t hurt them. The colors on the puzzle are sharp. I was very impressed. I think this puzzle is a good way to get your kids to know what planets there are and what they look like.

5 Stars Love the floor puzzles
I love the colorful melissa and doug floor puzzles! They are fun to put together and usually educational too.

5 Stars Durable, educational and fun
Melissa & Doug Solar System 48pc Floor

First I bought this product for my nephew who is 9 and has an interest in space. He loved it and kept taking it apart and putting it back together,

now he is going to glue and hang it on his bedroom wall. So I ordered two more for my grandson who is five and my sister’s grandson who is 4.

They both love them. The four year old had a great rainy day putting it together and since he’s wild about the planets lately he was really pleased. His parents recognized the Melissa and Doug product name and knew the quality of their puzzles. I wish they would come out with one that is large with the stars and the constellations, all three are beginning to have an interest in the night sky. Great durable pieces. Grandma M

5 Stars Very satisfied
This is the fourth M&D jigsaw puzzle we have purchased for my son (he just turned 3). They are a challenge, but a managable one. He gets a great sense of accomplishment when he finishes, and we get to identify the objects in the picture-another learning opportunity. The pieces are big enough for him to handle easily and they typically divide in such a way that it isn’t too hard for him to find a match. Great opportunity for semi-guided learning through play. Very satisfied with the construction and quality of the puzzles as well.

5 Stars Wonderful puzzle
Our 3-year old granson loves puzzles. As usual, this Melissa and Doug puzzle if durable and educational.

Excellent puzzle.

5 Stars The Dog is the Best
My daughter loves the dog puzzle in this box the best. She can put this one together quickly with no mistakes. She is less than three and loves all the puzzles and can neatly put it all away in the box. The one tiny thing is that she has a hard time sliding the lid closed. it must be matched up perfectly to slide closed. Awesome toy.

5 Stars Good for beginners
I bought it for my 30-month-old daughter. It is her first puzzle and after 2 weeks she can assemble all the pieces correctly without my help.

2 Stars Problems with Melissa & Doug Products
As with all of the Melissa & Doug products, the kids like them very much, but they are not well made. The paper on the front of the puzzles often isn’t glued on well & therefore rips. Also the wood and cardboard on the puzzles breaks easily. These products don’t last.

5 Stars Perfect!
My 4 1/2 yr old son loves these puzzles. They are just challenging enough to keep him interested, but not so much that he gives up, which is what has happened with other puzzles. He puts them together all by himself and wants to do it over and over again. The very portable, durable box has a lid that can be used as the puzzle platform, so he could even play with it in the car.

4 Stars Very good
I like this toy. My baby loves to play it. She keeps herself busy for hrs.

Basic Beat Single Egg Shaker

A classic, these Basic Beat Egg Shakers are enjoyable for children and adults alike. Approx. 2″ long, they have a great sound!

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars buy a crate of them
love the colour variety, kids love them. from infant to young child to adults. just make sure you buy alot. i think they run off with all those socks we seem to loose.

5 Stars shaking fun
All eggs were in great condition. They are the perfect size for little hands.

5 Stars egg shaker
my daughter is a music therapist and uses these in her sessions , they are great for kids or adults who can’t completely open their hands.

5 Stars Great fun! Approachable Percussion…
My students love these little shakers. They are excellent for teaching rhythm and for teaching togetherness–especially in non-intimidating ways. Buy a bunch of these and keep them in your rainy day kit.

These eggs can also be fun at pep rallies, school spirit days, drum circles, parties, school carnivals, team building sessions, spring fling, parades, camp, vacation Bible school, and athletic events–anywhere one wants to make a noise or “shake” things up in a positive way. They make fun prizes too.

Leapster Arcade Letterpillar

January 7th, 2010

Leapster Arcade Letterpillar

This hungry Letterpillar loves to eat letters. Watch him grow as he munches his way through a lively arcade game that reinforces important early reading and spelling skills. Teaches phonics, uppercase and lowercase letters and word building. For use with the Leapster Learning System or Leapster L-Max Learning Game System, each sold separately.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Great Beginner Game
My son received the Leapster system for his 4th birthday as a gift. It comes with this game. While this game isn’t the most challenging, my son enjoys it. I am not sure at what level the previous reviewers children are at, but my son doing very well at school. Maybe they are academically beyond him. He knows all of his letters, their sounds, and can read three letter words. He can also write out all of the letters in the alphabet, uppper and lower. So while this game isn’t extremely challenging, he still found it fun. I haven’t found controlling the letterpillar to be difficult at all, as a previous reviewer said. The arrow buttons on the control respond fine when controlling the letterpillar. I think this game was great as a “free” game with the system, because it allowed him to get used to using the controller. And my son isn’t electronically deprived. He uses our personal computer all of the time to play games. He also has a V-Smile with other games. We wanted this as a portable gaming system. Again, it was a good first, free game. I have nothing bad to say about it considering I didn’t have to pay for it.

5 Stars Great letter review!
Found the letterpillar a fine afternoon rainy day breath of fresh air for my girls. Like that the letterpillar gets ill if it eats numbers. :)

2 Stars It’s educational
We bought cartridge for our 3 year old. We were going on a airplane trip and thought it would keep his attention. He used it for only 5 minutes and wanted the creature creation cartridge. He may get more into this one when he gets older.

2 Stars Letterpillar – doesn’t stack up to other Leapster games
While my 3 yr old and 5 yr old play this game some, it doesn’t compare to the other cartridges we own. There is only one game on the cartridge. It is simple, and I’m not convinced it has much educational value, as do most of the other Leapster games we have. I recommend you buy the Draw & Write or the Letter Factory. My children fight / “take turns” over those two games and they are educational.

5 Stars Great letter teacher, phonics, etc. lots of fun
My grand daughter loves this and Running on Zero, one for letter skills, the other for math. Both are fun, and teach the child. They challenge your child to try harder, for a better score, even though there’s no grading involved (the way it should be)

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars great float for babys!
This is a great float. My 10-month-old son really enjoys swimming in it. The canopy helps blocking the sun.

2 Stars not good for houdinis
My 14 month old son (very small for his age) crawled out of it within five minutes-no joke. If you have a climber/daredevil type- don’t buy

5 Stars Swimming with “B”
We love this baby swim float. We got it when our baby was 6 months old. He was not able to sit up yet, but he didn’t need to because he can lay facing forward or lean backward in this very comfortably.

The sun canopy is great as well since our son hates the sun in his face.

I would recommend this to anyone and look forward to spending the rest of the summer with him in the pool.

5 Stars Great raft!
We purchased 2 of these for our twin daughters and they have been great for 2 summers now! They are very durable and the kids love them. I would highly recommend using an air pump to inflate it because it does take a while to blow up otherwise.

1 Star Beware!!! Will Flip
IT CAN FLIP AND HOLD THE CHILD UNDER WATER!!!

I bought this for my 12 month old. We have used it many many times and I was very happy with it. EXCEPT Today she managed to flip it over with me standing next to her and was held upside down in the pool because her feet were still the leg holes. PLEASE keep your hands on the float at all times. She was okay (she knows how to hold her breath) but this will be the last time I use the float. I know I have responsibility to keep my eyes and hands on the float at all times. In reality it is not possible. and I will be looking for a float vest that will fit her.
