5 Stars perfect, met expectations
my 4 year old can play level 1 and I really enjoy helping him play

5 Stars Star Wars
Both my sons 6 & 4 enjoy playing this game. It uses basic math as tool to fight and advance.

4 Stars Star Wars Lego for Leapster is a Winner
My son asked for this toy — he enjoys his Leapster L-Max & he is a fan of Star Wars. I got it for him for Easter and he plays with it. He is six and the game challenges him and motivates him to develop his arithmetic skills in a stimulating and exciting way.

5 Stars Great for teaching math and time skills
My 7 year old son loves Star Wars The Clone Wars, so I knew he would like this.

The best thing about the game is the questions get more difficult as the player advances within the chosen level. So, though it may start with single digit number recognition, it advances to double digit number recognition. It may start with asking about general time of day, but then advances to specific time of day and then to reading time on a digital clock.

I recommend this game for pre-K through second grade.

A more detailed description is presented below.

SPACE

Shoot the correct number to get to navigate through space to get to the ship where the prisoner is held.

Level 1: features recognition of numbers 1 through 10.

Level 2: features subtraction of single digit numbers.

Level 3: features addition of a two digit number with a single digit number.

THE SHIP

To get through the rooms, answer questions about time.

Level 1: questions feature time of day, like when do you usually leave for school (morning, afternoon, evening)?

Level 2: learn how to read time on an analogue clock to the hour.

Level 3: learn to read time on an analogue clock to the half hour.

LIGHTSABER DUEL

Answer the math questions quickly and Skywalker attacks. Answer incorrectly and the enemy attacks. The faster the player answers, the more power they get for their attack.

5 Stars My son loves it!
I really like the Leapster games because of their great educational value. For my son is a wonderful option since he loves to play and makes him realize that learning is like a game and not a boring thing to do.

5 Stars Super educational and lots of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is an educational game. It teaches spanish/english words, it teaches about animals, numbers, to add, to subtract. It is lots of fun. My twin 4 yr olds absolutely love it!!!!!!

5 Stars great game
This game is great. My daughters – ages 3 and 4- love it. It teaches them adding, subtracting, and number recognition.

5 Stars Awesome leapster game!!
We got this for our 3yo son for Christmas. We weren’t expecting him to catch on right away since he is so young (just turned 3 in Nov.) but he proved us wrong. He quickly learned how to control Diego and complete the missions.

There are 3 areas to play (desert, rain forest, Antarctica) and each area has 3 levels of difficulty to chose from. The first level teaches basics such as “Find the number 4″ “Find a red shape”. The more difficult levels work on larger numbers and math skills.

I think my son will be able to grow into this game and be able to use it for several years. Great game!

4 Stars Great Game for Diego Lovers
I got this game for my three year old and he taught himself to use most of the games after a short lesson. He loves it. Great for education and even a little dexterity.

5 Stars Diego
My son LOVES this one! He has several to choose from and this is the ONE! I am amazed at how quickly he has been learning it since he just turned 3.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars A must for your little princess!!!
I bought the Leapster 2 for my 3 year old granddaughter who truly thinks she is a princess. This game is the reason she loves her Leapster. I am going to buy another one of these games for her Leapster at my home. Do not hesitate!! A terrific princess learning game that she loves and actually plays with often!

5 Stars For the budding princess.
I have a 5 year old who loves this game. She’s had it for about a year and it’s one of her favorites. It never gets old.

The player must find books and win treasures in the various games to fill Belle’s library and Ariel’s Cave. The games teach spelling, letter recognition, sound recognition, number sequence, counting, number recognition, addition, subtraction. There are three levels to choose from in each game. The kids pick up on it right away that the lower levels are easier.

This game is fun and there are so many things to do. Oh, and did I mention educational? I highly recommend it for any young girl who wants to be a princess.

Below, I describe the games available.

_______________________________

Snow Ride: Help Belle get to the castle. Navigate her horse by choosing the correct answer.

Level 1: Focuses on recognizing upper and lower case letters. For example, “Ride to the log with the letter `e.’”

Level 2: Focuses on recognizing the sounds of letters. For example, “Find the letter that stands for the sound `uh.’”

Level 3: Focuses on spelling. For example, “Find the letters that spell the word `had.’”

Sea Searching: Help Flounder swim to the bubble with the correct answer.

Level 1: Counting and recognizing numbers. Answer questions like “Swim to the number 5,” or “How many rectangles are there?”

Level 2: Focuses on number sequence. For instance, “Swim to the number that comes after 72.”

Level 3: Focuses on number sequences counting backwards. For instance, “Swim to the number that comes before 73.”

Dish Dash: Help Chip set the table for dinner by choosing the correct plate.

Level 1: Focuses on letter recognition. For instance, “Find the plate with the letter (amongst 4 other plates that are numbered).”

Level 2: Focuses on letter sound recognition. For instance, “Find the letter that stands for the sound at the end of `sun.’”

Level 3: Focuses on spelling. For instance, “Find the letter that changes the word `ham’ into `ram.’”

Hermit Crab Shuffle: Touch the hermit crab with the correct answer.

Level 1: Focuses on recognizing shapes. For example, “Find the circle.”

Level 2: Focuses on number relationships and simple addition and subtraction. For example, “What number is less than 5?” and “8 squares minus 5 squares equal what number? (the problem is illustrated)”

Level 3: Focuses on addition and subtraction; and the problem is not illustrated. For example, “How much is 0 + 10?”
