4 Stars Love this game!
My five and six year old love playing this game. It is a great way for them to review their spelling lists throughout the year, plus it makes it a great item to take with you out to dinner (no pieces to lose and it will keep the kids’ attention until you are ready to leave!).

The only problem is that at the beginning the letters are extremely hard to turn. The more you play, the easier it is to turn the letters, but at the beginning the parents or older siblings will need to help.

5 Stars It’s F _ N to play H _ N G M _ N
First of all, the wooden tiles ARE hard to turn over, at least for the first bit. Once you get the hang of it, your fingertips don’t get so sore.

This game is FUN FUN FUN!! Perfect for in-home as well as travel use. I wish the dry-erase marker were permanently fastened to the game, but it would make it hard to replace, when needed.

Purchased for my beginning reader, she LOVES to play it. It’s so much better than Hangman on paper. This is made of wood and elastic cord. It is extremely sturdy and well-worth what we paid for it.

5 Stars Pretty cool version of hangman
Sure you could use a paper and pencil to play hangman, but this board is just more fun to play the game on. It’s very durable and solid and the pieces (except the pen) are connected to the board with elastic bands, so you don’t have to worry about missing parts.

The pen slips into the two loops located on the right side of the board (why not a snap-on?) and the writing area is on the bottom. Because the tiles are connected by the elastic, the players simply flip the tiles over as the game is played.

At the beginning of the game, all the letters are face up and all the hangman pieces are face down. The first player draws the dashes, representing each letter of a word, on the bottom portion of the board.

As the letters are called, they are flipped over and, if they are part of the mystery word, the dashes are filled in. If they are not part of the word, a hangman tile is flipped over.

The game continues until the word is guessed or until the hangman is completely visible.

I like how sturdy the board is and how easy it is to see the letters that you have guessed and the amount of time you have to get the word right. It definitely makes it easier to teach a youngster how to play this game since they can see everything in front of them.

At first, I thought that the board was too big to take in restaurants and such but, as my 5 year old son was playing it, I realized that the size made it easier for him to see the shape and form of the letters so it’s sort of a good thing.

I don’t like how difficult it is to flip the letters over but I suspect that time will ease it a bit. The biggest con was that the ink in the pen is completely dried out so we have to use another dry-erase marker to do the job and a tissue to erase the board when the game is over.

Other than that, this board is perfect and I highly recommend it!

5 Stars MUST HAVE!
We bought this for our 7 year old as an inpulse buy, we had no idea how great it was. You cant lost any parts (rarity these days), it educational for the early reader, fun and brings back great memories. What an amazing spin on a old time game!

5 Stars Great for travel
I bought this Hangman game for a vacation road trip one year and we loved it so much we take it with us whenever we go out for dinner now. It keeps the kids (ages 6 and 8) entertained while waiting for our food.

4 Stars Great for Traveling
This is a great game for the car. The kids were able to play with it by themselves and together. It’s also great for teaching colors, etc. It kept them occupied for quit a while, which is sometimes a challenge on long road trips.

5 Stars Great for travel
This was a great game for the airplane. The kids (4 and 6) had fun with it and the pieces are all attached so they can’t be dropped or lost.

5 Stars Great design plus here’s an idea for more cards
I have a 3yr old and a 1yr old so this game is fun for both of them. My 3yr old plays the memory game. My 1yr old likes to open and close the doors. I anticipate that my 3yr old will evenually memorize the cards but I’m pretty sure I could create my own new cards.

1) Trace a game card and cut out new card

2) Place blank card into wooden slot and then draw all the circles onto the card

3) Remove the card then place pairs of stickers over the circles

Voila! A new game card.

5 Stars Great for home or travel
My daughter is 4 years old and has mastered this game superbly. She has learned and memorized every single card within a week. What Melissa & Doug need to do is to add more inserts for purchase. The flipping mechanism works great. I love this product. Wish I could buy more inserts.

5 Stars Fun in the car
We took this on vacation and my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter really enjoyed it. It has several cards, so you can change the game each time you play. Very durable.
