3 Stars FUN BUT DO NOT LEAVE IN THE SUN…
This pool toy is a fun way to pass the time but do as the instructions say and do not leave it in the pool when not in use, especially in the direct sun. I left mine in the pool one afternoon and it developed a leak (due to the extreme heat) which is unrepairable since the tubing is covered by the outer material.

4 Stars Great Proudct!!
I got this for my birthday and Loved it when I first opened it. Its educational because my sister learned how to shoot baskets, The one con though is that the toy needs to be deflated when its not being used and its hard to fold up.

5 Stars Superb pool fun
Awesome I love this thing. Even I feel like shaq with this thing LOL. I run circles around all those 7 year olds..LOL. Seriously though this is a great toy. Still having fun with it. it’s durable. I suggest this to anyone looking to add a little fun to their summer.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Education Through Adventure
My kids love the Indiana Jones didj game. As play continues the questions and actions gets harder, keeping even us adults entertained while we play. You get to play both Indy and Mutt using whip and sword to fight the bad guys. Five stars on this Didj game!

5 Stars If you love Indie, you’ll love this game!
I bought this game for my 7 year old daughter, and we fight over who gets to play! I love it and its a great way for her to learn math while having fun!

4 Stars Older Mom still young at heart!
I bought this for my daughter’s 8th birthday. I loved this movie when the series first came out and hoped it would be fun. She loves it and wants to play it often. I definitely would recommend it for all parents of daughter’s – it’s not just for boys!

5 Stars Didj Indiana Jones
I have two boys who really like this game. They each set up their own profile and then I went online and adapted it to their skill level. I have changed the skill set I want them to be working on a couple of times as I find they have learned something, or get too frustrated by something. My boys like Indiana Jones and really enjoyed doing things with his character. True, they would rather be playing the Wii. But they definately prefer this to doing review sheets or flashcards. And, they learn the stuff faster too. This is one of my favorite leapster games.

5 Stars Taught himself division to play
Santa brought my son a Didj and this game along with SpongeBob. My son enjoyed this game so much that he taught himself division using his hands just to be able to play the game. According to the Didj website my son is performing at the 4th grade level – not bad for a first grader. His math scores at school have improved as well getting 100% every time.

Vtech V Motion Active Learning System Pink

December 7th, 2009

Vtech V Motion Active Learning System Pink

Keep kids moving, learning, and having fun with the award-winning V.Motion Active Learning System from Vtech. This educational gaming system is designed to keep kids aged three to seven amused and motivated for hours at a time. They will have plenty of fun using the wireless controller to practice hand eye coordination, solve puzzles, and win races.

What We Think

Fun Factor:

Durability:

(what this means)

The Good: Educational gaming system encourages creativity and problem solving

The Bad: No option to use non-battery power with the console

In a Nutshell: This unique game system promotes active play and makes learning fun

At a Glance

Ages: 3 to 7
Requires: 4 AA batteries and 3 AAA batteries (included); TV; PC to use V-link features

Includes everything you need to get started with healthy, educational fun.

Included “Action Mania” Smartridge features six types of games . View larger.

Easy to Setup and Control
Getting ready for your child’s first game is easy. Simply insert the included AA batteries into the game console and the included AAA batteries into the controller. Then connect the console to your TV using the include A/V cable, slide a Smartridge cartridge into the game slot, and you’re ready to go.

For each game, there are two control options. Kids can pick to use the joystick as a directional controller, or they can pick to use the motion of the controller itself. This means that tipping the controller left, right, forward, or backward inspires a corresponding motion on screen, letting kids get up and move around instead of staying stationary in front of the TV.

This is extra fun when your on-screen character is doing something fast-paced, like racing down a bobsled course. On the flip side, games that require more nuanced controls are often easier to navigate using the joystick. There’s even a switch that lets you decide which way is “up,” so the controller can be customized to accommodate right and left handed players.

Lots of Ways to Play Educational Games
It’s easy to see why this system won the National Parenting Center’s Seal of Approval and the Creative Child Seal of Excellence. A variety of age-appropriate games teach concepts like numbers, letters, and shapes for younger children and let older children work on skills like counting, vocabulary, and matching.

These games feature popular characters like Dora the Explorer, Spiderman, Kung Fu Panda, and Scooby Doo, and they include features that range from races to puzzles to sing-alongs. When kids want to play with a friend or a sibling, there’s a two-player mode. And a switch on the bottom of the controller lets you ensure that signals aren’t being crossed if the second player comes with his or her own controller.

The included “Action Mania” Smartridge means that your child will have six distinct types of games to choose from right away. One option is to engage in a bobsled race where passing through gates requires answering questions related to counting or more advanced topics like understanding greater than and less than. Another option involves using the controller to balance on a ball and select healthy foods, like pineapple, and avoid “unhealthy” snacks, like sweets. The third game is situated on a tennis court and does an especially good job promoting the development of hand eye coordination.

Club VTech lets parents and kids connect online and participate in a family-centered learning community. The included USB V-link device makes it easy to move data from your home computer to your Active Learning System. Web connect features allow for bonus gameplay downloads that keep kids excited about this learning system, and parents have access to educational advice and special promotional offers.

Overall, the whole Vtech experience is designed to promote interaction and healthy lifestyle choices while making learning fun. Our one minor complaint is the fact that the console uses battery power instead of having a wall adapter, which would eliminate the disappointment of batteries dying in the middle of a game. But if you don’t have a convenient outlet, or you want to use the same console on several different TVs, this feature can actually be a bonus.

What’s in the Box
Console, controller, wrist strap, 4 AA batteries, 3 AAA batteries, Smartridge, V-link, and user’s manual.

5 Stars a must for any 5 year old
I have a very active 5 year old, who’s motor skills need extra work. This game allows her to use her hand eye cordination and wiggle. She loves to play the games.

The first system I recieved would not turn on, but a replacement was sent and arrived faster than I anticipated and works wonderfully.

This game is a great way to give the early learner the activity and education they need!!!!!!

5 Stars Daughter Loves Her VSmile Motion
First, I must say, I was very apprehensive about buying this console after reading reviews from other sites. I got one at a great bargain price and I couldn’t pass it up. I kept my fingers crossed hoping I wouldn’t be one of the unfortunates. Thankfully, I wasn’t. We’ve had it for about 2 months now and she’s just getting the hang of it (she’s 3). She does get a little frustrated when the car goes the wrong way (most kids are at that age anyway). I only have the game it came with and she loves the racing part. It amazes me to hear her calling out the letters that she needs to find to complete the word. I’ll be getting her more games in the future. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and most important, my daughter loves it. Great console and educational content.

4 Stars Good cheap alternative to wii
Since the wii and its games cost more, this is good for an educational alternative for kids. Plus the wii games are so horrible and good for only about a week before they’re so boring you try to exchange them for 4 dollars at gamestop and lose out on 39 bucks. The games for this thing are way cheaper, and educational.

4 Stars Great gaming system for kids!
OK, so not the best graphics but it is not as expensive as the other systems out there and is great for kids. She does get a little frustrated from time to time and I even got stuck on one of the Spiderman games! LOL! She gets a little bored with some but there are so many options on each cartridge. This is a cute system, I would recommend it. Not a bad price either, I did get it as a gold box deal and that was great!

4 Stars The Good Game Console
Great educational learning tool that is also FUN!! My 3 and 4 year olds love it. Having a game console like this makes learning letters, numbers, and words a lot more fun than the flashcards and books.

Stomp Rocket Junior Glow Kit

Stomp Rocket Junior Glow Kit

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great Toy
I bought this toy for my son’s 4th birthday. He is loving it. It is incredible easy to set up and works well. We’ve had it only a week, but he’s been playing with it all the time. I don’t know that it’s “educational” but he sure is having fun.

5 Stars Great Product
Easy to use and lots of fun for kids 2-6 years old. Adults even had fun with it. So far it has not stayed caught in tree limbs, eventually the rocket falls through branches.

4 Stars Great toy that attracts kids of all ages
I bought this for my 3yr old nephew and he loved it! Even the older kids who were 6 and 7 enjoyed it. The only real complaint that I could give is it can be pretty fragile. But at the cheap price and guaranteed enjoyment kids will get out of it, I’ll gladly buy him another if/when it breaks.

5 Stars A definite child pleaser!
We have had so much fun with these! My son had received these and another similar rocket set for his birthday recently. Although the other set is fun, this set is less expensive and is much more fun, as the rockets fly much higher and with a lot more power. The simple design is easy for my 4 and 5 year old to set up. The whole family, adults and all were seriously entertained for quite some time with this. The foam rockets are quite durable and have undergone much neglect from overuse and we have yet to have a single one break. I cannot say enough about this Stomp Rocket set. It is a great way to get the blood pumping while stomping and running around trying to catch the rockets as they fall. A great family activity but also an activity that can keep a child entertained for a good half hour at least. The toy is definitely deserving of the awards that it has one!

5 Stars Fun toy!! (even for parents)
This is a great toy that was enjoyed by 3 grandchildren (boys ages 4 & 5), Two of the boys have aspergers and this was a good toy for them. Event the parents and grandparents enjoyed it. Durable and fun.

Techno Source Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader Electronic Table Top Game

November 21st, 2009

Techno Source Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader Electronic Table Top Game

The hit game show comes home with this electronic game, where one to four players try to answer questions that anyone who graduated 5th grade should know. It even features a remote control to “beam” in your answers to the board. Techno Source. Ages: 8+

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars It’s all been said…
5th Grader games are fun in general. I got this for my sister’s kids. They love it. They even hog it. And sometimes they get stumped by it. It is worth the price. Pretty sturdy. It has an occassional freeze up moment. Which isn’t good when you’ve got several people who care about their winnings. Otherwize no quibbles or tribbles.

*Note: if you want the downside of things: The screen is tiny! Come on toy makers, not every one can read tiny print…. size about an inch.*

5 Stars very much educational for 10+ kids.
Are you smarter than 5th grader is very educatonal game for 10+ years old kids. My Nephew and NIece enjoyed it very much.I brought it from USA and they are in India and they are still having fun and playing it.

1 Star does not work!
it’s terrible. it didn’t work at all. would stop after a few seconds. I changed batteries three times and still nothing. I moved it around like they said because of “Static electricity” but still did not work. I emailed them for a replacement but never heard anything.

4 Stars I’m smarter than a 5th grader!!
I think it’s a pain to have to adjust the settings every time the game is turned on. No one can read the questions with the default settings, unless someone is a speed reader with incredible eyesight. It would be nice if the game allowed the setting to remain set until manually changed. The questions are challenging, however, and we’ve had a lot of fun playing this game with friends.
