5 Stars Great coordinator
I purchased this for my 3 year old grand-daughter. She loves it. It establishes hand/eye coordination and is fun. It is one toy that doesn’t frustrate her.

4 Stars Good and simple
A good basic t-ball stand. Nothing fancy. Nothing electronic. And it can be hung on the wall!

5 Stars Great T-ball Starter Set
I love this t-ball set, but my 2 year old still likes it better when I hold the ball. I bought this so when he missed, he wouldn’t whapp my arm with the bat! But, he does love to use it with his friends, and they have hit it all over the yard and its still as good as new.

5 Stars Great for toddlers
My parents got this for my son’s 2nd birthday. He absolutely loves it. It is great for hand-eye coordination. My husband is a huge baseball fan, so he really loves watching our son start on the basics of the game!

4 Stars CAUTION
This is a very cute toy. Only thing…I paid $9.99 for shipping and handleing and when it arrived at my house, the toy was not in a brown box, the company just stuck a shipping sticker on the toys box. When it arrived, my 4 year old twins got an early Christmas present…it was on my portch! Not much for Christmas presents this year and now I am one less! THANKS ALOT!!!

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Best Doctor Kit!
Highly recommend! My daughter plays with it everyday for the past 4 months. Love the sound effects!

5 Stars Excellent doctors kit!
What a great product! We started out with the cheap $10 doctors kit.. but since my daughter was so into playing doctor, we decided to buy this kit for her for Christmas – she is 2.5 years old. She LOVES it!

She absolutely loves how the pager, phone and stethoscope make noises. I’m not to fond of the coughing coming out of the stethoscope, but she doesnt seem to mind (I think they could have just done the heart beat).

There are a lot of pieces to this doctors kit! They fit in the box (which has latches on it to keep it closed properly), and the quality is pretty good of the items.

Very good doctors kit for kids – highly recommend it. My daughter loves to play with it.. and we get examined a lot in this household :)

4 Stars Doctor set
This toy quickly became a favorite for my grand daughter. There are lots of pieces for her to play with.

4 Stars Overall a good Dr.’s Kit
Some of the items are a bit cheap, but my daughter has enjoyed playing with the kit, and I am glad that I purchased it for her.

5 Stars Great Doctors Kit
My daughter is 3 1/2 and loves to play with her doctors kit. There are a lot of pieces to the kit and we have not been able to find any comparable toy in any local store. So for us, this is the best around. However, for the $$ we were slightly disappointed that the cell phone does not work. It appears to have a defect. Other than that, great educational toy.

Quiddler

December 19th, 2009

Quiddler

The challenge of Quiddler is to arrange your entire hand into words. Draw and discard in turn. Try to use those high point letters, but don’t get caught with them uncombined! Quiddler is fast paced because you can play using everyday words. A bonus is given for the most words in each round (so little words can help you win), as well as for the longest word. Quiddler is a delightful challenge for both rookies and word game lovers. Quiddler is for up to eight players.

4 Stars great game with kids
Fun game for kids and adults, can be very competitive or everyone can help other players, good for new readers with help.

5 Stars Quiddler is a Great Family Game
On A recent trip to visit a friend in San Diego, my 16 year old grand daughter and i were introduced to Quiddler. we played this game several times each night and could not wait to get home to order some. I ordered 5 games, one for my friend, my sister, myself, my daughter and her family and one to spare. This gane appeals to every age group form my 7 year old grand son to my 77 year old mother. This is a great family game. Did you know that QUA is a word.

5 Stars A good gift for 7-8 year olds….
I had read the reviews prior to the purchase. Considering this is an award winning game, I was sure it would be a good buy. It is a good gift for kids who love words and a first fun game with words before graduating to the Scrabble. Personally, I think it is more fun than the Scrabble for 7 year olds. The 7-8 year olds I bought this game loved it. I got two of them from Amazon. Fabulous gift!

5 Stars My Favorite Game
General Commentary:

- I normally play with 20-30 somethings from 10 minutes to 2 hours each sitting.

Good:

- Can be played with people of all levels .

- Great for helping people with spelling and vocabulary.

- Allows for varied time play (a round of possibly 5 minutes to hours of fun.)

- Can be played collaboratively, help other players arrange cards to maximize points.

- Leads to interesting conversations about word definitions and word combination.

- Great for play at any location: the park, the beach, the car (be aware of potential carsickness), Tea Station.

Bad:

- Sometimes does require a dictionary.

Overall:

- I love this game.

- It’s my personal favorite among all the SET card games.

5 Stars Love this game
Played Quiddler at a party, and because it was such a good time, decided to purchase it. Sort of Scrabble and rummy combined…what’s not to love.

Leapster Arcade Letterpillar

November 23rd, 2009

Leapster Arcade Letterpillar

This hungry Letterpillar loves to eat letters. Watch him grow as he munches his way through a lively arcade game that reinforces important early reading and spelling skills. Teaches phonics, uppercase and lowercase letters and word building. For use with the Leapster Learning System or Leapster L-Max Learning Game System, each sold separately.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Great Beginner Game
My son received the Leapster system for his 4th birthday as a gift. It comes with this game. While this game isn’t the most challenging, my son enjoys it. I am not sure at what level the previous reviewers children are at, but my son doing very well at school. Maybe they are academically beyond him. He knows all of his letters, their sounds, and can read three letter words. He can also write out all of the letters in the alphabet, uppper and lower. So while this game isn’t extremely challenging, he still found it fun. I haven’t found controlling the letterpillar to be difficult at all, as a previous reviewer said. The arrow buttons on the control respond fine when controlling the letterpillar. I think this game was great as a “free” game with the system, because it allowed him to get used to using the controller. And my son isn’t electronically deprived. He uses our personal computer all of the time to play games. He also has a V-Smile with other games. We wanted this as a portable gaming system. Again, it was a good first, free game. I have nothing bad to say about it considering I didn’t have to pay for it.

5 Stars Great letter teacher, phonics, etc. lots of fun
My grand daughter loves this and Running on Zero, one for letter skills, the other for math. Both are fun, and teach the child. They challenge your child to try harder, for a better score, even though there’s no grading involved (the way it should be)

5 Stars Great letter review!
Found the letterpillar a fine afternoon rainy day breath of fresh air for my girls. Like that the letterpillar gets ill if it eats numbers. :)

2 Stars Letterpillar – doesn’t stack up to other Leapster games
While my 3 yr old and 5 yr old play this game some, it doesn’t compare to the other cartridges we own. There is only one game on the cartridge. It is simple, and I’m not convinced it has much educational value, as do most of the other Leapster games we have. I recommend you buy the Draw & Write or the Letter Factory. My children fight / “take turns” over those two games and they are educational.

2 Stars It’s educational
We bought cartridge for our 3 year old. We were going on a airplane trip and thought it would keep his attention. He used it for only 5 minutes and wanted the creature creation cartridge. He may get more into this one when he gets older.

Gund Soft and Shaggy Elmo doll in new larger size

October 29th, 2009

Gund Soft and Shaggy Elmo doll in new larger size

New model introduced in 2008! Higher quality eyes & features compared to older Elmo 13″ Plush (Part # 75351)

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars My grand daughter adores Elmo
I got this Elmo doll for my grand daughter last year and she is still loving it. She’ll be 2 in July and Elmo is her favorite character. The only thing I don’t like about this is his mouth stays WIDE open all the time. Doesn’t seem to bother my grand daughter though!

3 Stars He is very surprised!
This Elmo looks great other than the extremely wide open mouth which looks like Elmo at his most excited or surprised–would be perfect with more normal looking mouth. My daughter loves Elmo but is sort of indifferent with the doll. When we make him talk and play pretend she engages but otherwise doesn’t seem to care too much for him. Probably just an individual thing…

5 Stars Thank goodness it doesn’t talk
My 16 month old daughter loves this doll. She became Elmo obsessed about 2 months ago. She had an Elmo doll that talked every time its head flipped back, which she loved. But she wanted to take it to bed with her and it would make noises every time she rolled over. We could not find one that didn’t talk in any store. This doll has been fabulous. She does not go anywhere without it and we don’t have to hear it constantly. She actually prefers this one over the talking Elmo.

5 Stars Elmo is a hit
We bought this for our daughters 2nd birthday and it’s exactly as described, a plush Elmo doll.

She was ecstatic when she unwrapped it and it’s never far from her side now.

Well worth the money.

5 Stars Perfect Lovie for a small child !!
I purchased Elmo for my 14mo old grandson. It gives him a “Lovie” to cuddle and he loves Elmo!! Very cute. Also, he shows you Elmo’s eyes, nose, etc. A good purchase.
