5 Stars I love Big Screen FreeCell
I already had the burgundy freecell game by Radica, and have played it for years. The center roller was not consistently working, so it was time for a new model. After playing the Big Screen model for about a month, I picked up my old game again. I absolutely love the new navigation up & down arrows; this works so much better than the old roller for scrolling. I also quickly realized how much better the lighted screen is. I love this game.

1 Star Buy A Laptop
I imagine this gadget may be adequate for the UltraHardcore Freecell Junkies among us. However, even as big a Freecell Zombie as I am I think this hand held “version” is a useless POS. I find it impossible to differentiate the four suits in any useful way. Yeah, you can see them by squinting but, since there’s no color involved to distinguish hearts and diamonds from clubs and spades, it’s almost impossible to figure out which card should go where. In addition, and, I think, a problem with all these solitare games, is the fact that you cannot see the entire field of cards so you have no idea where the aces are, e.g., without constantly using the “up” and “down” buttons.

In short, this game is pretty much for those who are desperate to play Freecell in the WORST way, because this is truly the worst way I can imagine. If you are totally jonesing for a hit of Freecell and you’re dependant on your desktop, then get yourself a small laptop. Don’t waste your money, as I did, on this toy.

5 Stars Big Screen Free Cell
It takes a few minutes to get used to the screen. Reading the instructions really helps!! Once you get the hang of it it’s great. My husband plays this every day. It’s great to cart along to a dental or doctor’s appointment – makes that time in the waiting room seem short!

1 Star Not much fun
I really wanted to enjoy this but it’s not like the game on my computer (as stated in the description) the card piles are all the same and worse, there is no undo button which for those of us just learning the game, is essential. Once you move a card, that is it, no mistakes allowed. Perhaps this game is only for those who really know the game and somehow can make this thing work and have fun. I found only frustration.

5 Stars Big Screen Free Cell
I’m on my second one. I wore one out. I have had it a couple of years. It still works but is getting a little beat up. I play it almost every day. It lights up so it’s easy to see with the lights out. Love it. My Mom’s on her second one also.

4 Stars Any Halo toy is a hit in my house
This is our second set: my husband bought a set for our 9 y/o for Christmen and he LOVED it! He was very impressed with the realistic look and sounds. We bought another set for his birthday so he can have more friends join in!

1 Star Not so great toy
We did really not like this toy much as you have to be really close of right on the target box that you carry and that is impossible when you are running around trying to avoid getting shot.

4 Stars fun but eats batteries fast
bought it for my grandsons 12th birthday he loves the guns–plays with his 16 year old brother but the batteries do not last long at all. We are getting rechargeables.

3 Stars Good Deal
Fun factor last maybe 40 min with my kids. It gets played with here and there. “Halo” so you can’t go wrong. Fun toy for the money. I saw this on Amazon for really cheap vs. what the store was selling for.

2 Stars not so happy.
i like that its halo 3 but is fell apart so easy, the sound is not working on one of them, and the other just doesnt work =(.

What Makes Retro Arcade Games So Special

May 14th, 2009

In the 1980’s, early in the computer age, sounds and graphics put certain video games on the cutting edge of technology. Today such games are known as “retro” games because they look back to the past. But even though they are no longer available for purchase, they still have a devoted group of fans who recognize the place these retro Amiga games hold in the evolution of modern gaming.

Among the Retro Video Consoles that topped the list from the era are Formula 1 Grand Prix, Lemmings, Civilization, and Dune II. A lot of the games that appeared on the consoles such as the Commodore Amiga were derived directly from the arcade machines.

Once arcade gamers tried the rewritten, newly formatted home versions of their stand-up arcade favorites, they were hooked. Though not impressive when compared to modern game sound and graphics, in their day these pioneering video classics were revolutionary. Not many people had a game console at home, but nearly everybody wanted one.

One console that they coveted was the Commodore 64. It debuted with software that, at the time, only Nintendo programs could challenge. A mark of the Commodore’s popularity is that games can still be found today, in a few stores and on certain internet sites that cater to retro fans.

The animations are exactly the way you recall and the music sounds a little better due to the sound quality that comes with many modern day consoles. Many Retro Amiga Games have become huge fan favourites with forums and websites devoted to specific games.

Some enthusiastic fans collect these old Retro Game Consoles from the garages of many people who are unaware of their popularity and significance.

Even given their past popularity, though, these vintage games are not easy to find. True retro game fans just won’t be satisfied with revamped versions made to run on PCs, no matter how faithful the reproduction may be. Somehow it’s just not the same–the look, the feel, the sound of the old consoles can’t be duplicated. For the real deal, a recreation of the fondly remembered gaming experience, fans tirelessly scour pawnshops, visit internet auctions, and seek out specialized game websites.

The past featuring these vintage Video Games is unique. These systems were developed from one to the next improved system, only for the purpose of these games.People while playing the Classic Video Games, still remember their old days when they used to play these games in the comfort of their bedrooms, till they went dizzy. The consoles of today are much sleeker and better, but the old ones still have significance of being the pioneers of this gaming world.
