User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great Toy
I bought this toy for my son’s 4th birthday. He is loving it. It is incredible easy to set up and works well. We’ve had it only a week, but he’s been playing with it all the time. I don’t know that it’s “educational” but he sure is having fun.

5 Stars Great Product
Easy to use and lots of fun for kids 2-6 years old. Adults even had fun with it. So far it has not stayed caught in tree limbs, eventually the rocket falls through branches.

4 Stars Great toy that attracts kids of all ages
I bought this for my 3yr old nephew and he loved it! Even the older kids who were 6 and 7 enjoyed it. The only real complaint that I could give is it can be pretty fragile. But at the cheap price and guaranteed enjoyment kids will get out of it, I’ll gladly buy him another if/when it breaks.

5 Stars A definite child pleaser!
We have had so much fun with these! My son had received these and another similar rocket set for his birthday recently. Although the other set is fun, this set is less expensive and is much more fun, as the rockets fly much higher and with a lot more power. The simple design is easy for my 4 and 5 year old to set up. The whole family, adults and all were seriously entertained for quite some time with this. The foam rockets are quite durable and have undergone much neglect from overuse and we have yet to have a single one break. I cannot say enough about this Stomp Rocket set. It is a great way to get the blood pumping while stomping and running around trying to catch the rockets as they fall. A great family activity but also an activity that can keep a child entertained for a good half hour at least. The toy is definitely deserving of the awards that it has one!

5 Stars Fun toy!! (even for parents)
This is a great toy that was enjoyed by 3 grandchildren (boys ages 4 & 5), Two of the boys have aspergers and this was a good toy for them. Event the parents and grandparents enjoyed it. Durable and fun.

LeapFrog Tag Reading System

December 1st, 2009

LeapFrog Tag Reading System

Introducing Tag Reading System, the revolutionary touch reading system that brings reading to life like never before. Tag engages children to make reading a rich, fulfilling experience. Children simply touch the Tag Reader (which looks like an electronic pen) to the book’s pages, and words talk, characters sing and stories fly off the pages.

With a huge library of hardcover books and games including favorite TV, movie and classic tales, each Tag Book allows children to learn at their own pace, building their skills and their confidence. Plus, by connecting the Tag Reader to the online LeapFrog Learning Path, parents can see what their child is learning — and even receive recommendations on what books their child could read next! Includes Tag Reader, plus the “Ozzie and Mack” Book; additional Tag Books sold separately. Tag Reader requires two “AAA” batteries, not included.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars An great addition to book reading time
My 3 year old grandson has loved the Tag reading system with the books we got for him (especially Cars- Tractor tipping.) Part of his bedtime ritual is to have a book or 2 (or 3) read to him, and the Tag reader is now incorporated into this time. He enjoys touching different objects on each page to hear the sounds they make — it’s sometime amazing how many times in a row he wants to hear the same sounds. I think it will be really helpful shortly when he has the patience to try actually reading the individual words, but we’ll see how that actually works out. I’ve already bought 4 more books for him since he has had so much fun with the three he has. He also like to do the activities, though his parents have not tried uploading the results of those activities.

He uses it independently as well as with parents.

All in all a really great “educational toy.”

5 Stars You can get more storage for addional books
There is another version of tag reader that you can order from leapfrogschoolhouse.com which will hold 20-25 books instead of only 5. I got one last month and it works great. I ordered the books from the website and was not sure if the books sold in stores would work in it but my son bought the Dora book from Walmart and it works in it.

5 Stars A gift
Bought this as a gift and the kid loves it! Great product and quick delivery and product by amazon.

2 Stars LeapFrog support stinks. Software buggy / error handling poor.
Product isn’t working properly. I install the software on my computer and then attempt to connect to my Tag reader. It says that the reader needs to be updated and then that the application that will do the updating hasn’t been downloaded yet and that once it is downloaded that I should cycle power on the Tag reader and reconnect. There is no indication of whether this is an automatic download handled by the Connect software or whether it requires user intervention. If it is automatic then it isn’t working. If user intervention is required there are no instructions and no utility or files anywhere for manual firmware download, etc. And yes, I know how my computer works and no I haven’t got problems on my end that are causing the problem. I am a computer scientist. If I can’t get it working then how in heck is the average user going to?

E-mail only support. No phone, no live chat. Stated 48-72hr response time. Crapola folks. In the past I’ve played a major role in a product support group. I know darn well that results come from real-time communication. I don’t have the time or patience for this. It is a mass market product that, after you buy several books, isn’t cheap. They should at least have bombproof software or better support — preferably both.

I will seriously think twice about purchasing a LeapFrog product again.

5 Stars LOVE IT!
We have a 4yr old daughter and she adores her TAG system! She hauls the pen and books all over the house with her! We love that it’s educational as well as entertaining! It was a great investment, and I highly recommend it!

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Good toy, built together with our 3 year old
If your child is past putting things in their mouth, its a great way to spend time together, show them how to follow directions, and build it with them. It added hours of good interaction with our 3 year old and we’d buy advanced toys like this again — but it does supervision.

4 Stars Best “Brick” Helicopter
This is probably one of the best looking “Brick” Helicopters. I’ve yet to see a realistic collector quality helicopter by Lego. MegaBloks has made one. The MegaBloks helicopter is based on a Eurocopter EC 135. It was a lot bigger than expected when completed. Although a bit below “Lego” quality, it’s very nicely done. I’d recommend it for adult collectors as well as kids. A few minuses are the back portion is a little “rough” looking with some flat doors covering the rounded aft end, The aft doors tend to fall off easily. Some of the paint on the parts are also a little thin. I touched mine up with some spare paint. Once completed it looks proportional compared to pics of the real EC 135. The main rotors look the right size and are nicely detailed. It looks like it would fly! You’d probably pay twice or three times as much for a equivalent Lego version.

ROCKET BALLOON REFILL 25 PACK

August 5th, 2009

ROCKET BALLOON REFILL 25 PACK

25 rocket balloon refills. Warning Choking Hazard! Contains small parts, not for children under 3.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Best Rocket Balloon Refills!!!
The D&L Rocket Balloon Refills are the best on the market. Will last for several launches…and have the great whistle sound you love and expect from a Rocket Balloon.

5 Stars fun for everyone with balloons that fly
What a lot of fun for all. Just watching the balloons go crazy as the air blows out of them in a very noisy manor is a blast. They would end up on the roof or the trees and once we went thru the whole packet, we got long ladders to fetch the lost ones just to hear em go crazy again. Fun for ages 4 and up. A must for any party! You do need a pump for it as you can not blow it up with your mouth.
