Get Ready to Show off Your Child’s Photos
It’s clear right out of the packaging that this camera was designed to stand up to tough play and rough handling. Bright pink rubber grips on each side make it easy for children to grasp the camera with both hands, and two-eye viewing make it easy to conceptualize a photo or a cool video. The camera even comes with two interchangeable faceplates, so your child can pick her favorite look.

Before your child starts taking photos, you’ll need to use a Phillips screwdriver to insert four “AA” batteries in the grips of the camera. While the first few photos are being taken, you may want to set up the VTech Photo Editor on your computer. An intuitive installation wizard makes this process quick and easy. You’ll need Windows 2000 SP3+/XP or newer to use this software. And don’t despair if you’re a Mac user. As long as you have Mac OS X 10.0 or above, you can still use the camera in mass storage mode.

Inspire Creative Development
Six buttons and a navigational joystick on the back of the camera let your child pick a mode and scroll through old photos. Between taking photos, shooting videos, and playing simple games on the 1.8-inch color screen, there’s lots to do.

A built-in flash makes it easier to get well-lit pictures, especially if the subject of the photo is indoors. The flash does, however, often fire if you are trying to take a close-up shot, resulting in very bright, blown-out pictures. Inexperienced photographers may need to be reminded that the camera is not designed to focus on objects that are less than 1.5-feet from the camera. For super-sized fun, you can also link the camera to your television using the included A/V cable and view creative work on the big screen.

With 16MB of internal memory and an SD card slot so that you can add capacity if you need it, this camera lets kids collect lots of images. The included USB cable lets you upload the images to your computer. The VTech photo editor lets you or your child add cool frames to photos, stamp funny hats on people, and distort images. You can even run fun animations that makes the photo look like it is rotating or underwater.

The photo editor interface is easy to use, with big round buttons for kids to click on and drag-and-drop stamps. More advanced artists may be disappointed that there aren’t more ways to creatively control output, but files from the Kidizoom can easily be edited in more advanced programs, too.

2 Stars picture quality is terrible
my daughter liked playing with it for awhile but got frustrated with the low picture quality. She is 4. The games on it also bored her after a few tries. She still wants to use my camera because at least the pictures come out. My 1 year old likes to push the buttons, but being 1, his attention isn’t held long.

5 Stars my 2 year old’s first camera
the easy use of this camera and its convenient toddler design made it easy for our 2 year old daughter Opal to join in on the fun. My husband and I are both photographers and so is our 6 year old, now our youngest can join in on the fun!

5 Stars GREAT kids camera, decent pic quality
my toddler LOVES it and its not that bad, if she doesnt move too quickly it takes pretty good pics, BEST indoors, took some photos at the beach and none came out but one, maybe too much sun, but the indoor pics have decent quality.

so far she has dropped it and it still works, the batteries havent been drained and she plays with it constantly,

* it has an automatic shut off which is GREAT!

so far so good!

5 Stars 7yr old loves it!!
My daughter has had a few digital cameras in the past year. The past couple that shes had are just crap digital camera, supposedly had the viewing screen, but you couldn’t make anything out. In my search to find her a good durable “kids” camera I came across the kidizoom. I think its been one of the best purchases of the year!! She absolutley loves it.

The viewing screen, you can actually make out the pictures, and it takes pretty decent pictures. She loves the Video Camera portion as well and the games. All in all we’re very happy with the camera and it seems to be very durable. Only downfall that I can see it that there is no way to charge the camera, it eats up batteries rather quickly. But that’s a minor thing.

5 Stars Great Kids Camera
I researched several different kids cameras, and came to a stop on the V-Tech KiddiZoom Camera. I was impressed by what I read about it and wanted to give it a try.

This camera is fantastic. I was worried just a little bit if my son would be able to use the camera, since it said for ages 3 and up. However, he uses it like a pro. The picture quality is fantastic and it is very durable. It has had a few drops around the house and still works like a charm.

I would highly recommend this product if you have a little one that loves using your expensive digital camera! They will love this one just as much.

5 Stars Play phone with lights and sounds
I bought this phone for the grandkids and they love it.(Age 1 and 6 months) They esp. love the flashing lights that go off when ever you push a buttom. Its not overbearingly loud, and has music and a phone that says “lets call mommy, or lets call daddy”. The nice thing also is it has a turn off button, it also seems very durable and strong. In this household, the kids love it!

1 Star Disappointed
I’m surprised this toy got so many positive reviews. The speaking voice that comes out drives me crazy! The inflections of individual words don’t match the sentence; for example, the voice says, “This is the RED triangle” and the word “red” has this excited, overly happy inflection. It just doesn’t fit in the sentence. It’s the same with most of the sentences and sounds unnatural – “Let’s call MOMMY!” It reminds me of a computer voice where the words are pieced together. We have other Vtech toys that we are very happy with. I wish we had a different brand of toy phone, though!

5 Stars Shocked at how much my toddler loves this!
I bought this used from a consignment shop, not from Amazon. It was a little scratched up from the previous owner but otherwise works like a champ. We’ve had it for a couple months and it’s been dropped all over the place and played with almost every day, and still going strong. So, full marks for durability!

This is actually the 3rd toy phone that we’ve bought, but the only one that has absorbed my toddler’s attention for more than a couple minutes. Yes, the songs and sounds are very annoying to me after a while, but he loves it so who am I to complain?

I don’t know what that other reviewer meant by a foreign voice. Ours sounds American and is perfectly coherent. She is maybe a little too enthusiastic about shapes and colors, but whatever.

This has an on/off switch but no volume control. The volume is an adequate level for the house or car, not too quiet, not too ear-damaging. If it’s too loud for you, you can put a piece of packing tape over the speaker to muffle, like we do with many of our other singing toys.

5 Stars BEST phone for your money
My daughter has had this phone for about 2 yrs. It has grown with her. At 1 – she liked the lights and sounds (and could chew on the antennae without worry). At 2 – she knew what sounds came from which button in all 3 modes. Now at 3 she is listening to the words and repeating them and thinking about what it all means. I leave this in the car and it’s her toy when we are on the road. I love that it has French and Spanish on it as well as English. It’s never too early to introduce other languages. We had tried a few other brands before we found this one and by far this one is the best. Batteries last forever in it. This would make a perfect gift to expecting parents.

5 Stars perfect christmas gift
I bought this for my 1 and a half year old niece and she hasn’t stopped thanking me. She played with this gift the most out of all the crap she got this year. I can hear it now as I type.
