3 Stars Baby Play Mat..
Its good as a “Baby Play Mat”. I dont know why its so pricey though!! I mean its still a MAT!

5 Stars Worth every penny I paid!
My new Grandson is a preemie, born 11 weeks early and now at 10 weeks he is 8lbs 8ozs and is starting to notice all the bright colors and listen to the music in his Bright Starts Play Place Mat. I think its a great product and I love the way the sides can be used up or down. Would suggest this product for all new babies, its well made also. Easy to wipe clean.

5 Stars Good play mat, even for newborns
This is a great, high quality mat. I started putting my newborn in this mat at 1 week old, and he enjoyed it even when he was that young. There are a lot of pictures on the fold up sides that he looks at (in black and white and bright colors) and he kicks the crinkly sections of the mat. As he is getting older, he is looking in the mirror and hitting the toys overhead. I think we’ll continue to get a lot of use out of this mat.

4 Stars One of our must-have’s!
This playmat is a staple in our daily rotation. We live in an apartment & space is an issue so we didn’t register for a lot of toys. However, I really wanted a playmat & researched a lot of different ones. This had gotten good reviews on another site & I’m glad we got it. We’ve been putting our now 3 month old daughter in it since she was just a couple of weeks old. She loved looking at the pictures on the side walls & the crinkling sounds of the leaves on the floor of the mat. Now that she’s older, she focuses more on batting the overhead toys with her hands & feet & looking in the mirror. We actually don’t even keep the musical bee in the playmat, but instead take it with us in the car. As any parent can appreciate, its songs are not really all that “offensive” (read: annoying) to parental ears. True, it does go on for a very long time. Just when you think it’s done, it’ll start with another song, but they’re actually quite catchy & I’ve found myself whistling them even when it’s off.

Sometimes this play mat is the only thing that will quiet her when she’s fussy & doesn’t want to be held. It’s a saving grace when I want to jump on the computer, start dinner, or just get some “me time”. She can be in here up to a half hour which this Mom always appreciates especially since my hubby works 2 jobs & isn’t always around to relieve me. I’ve even put her Boppy & her Bumbo in there just so she has a different point of view & she’s loved the change of scenery.

My only con & the only reason why I didn’t give it the full 5 stars is that I wish it’d come with more toys to interchange. My daughter has grown quite bored of all the standard toys that come with it. I’ve bought some new ones & am constantly trying to switch them out to keep her entertained. The orange bee teether is pointless (at least till she starts teething). The color isn’t all that bright & she’s had zero interest in it. I would’ve rather they included something else.

All in all, this is a terrific playmat & compared to other pricier models, a great value. The pictures on this site don’t actually do it justice. The colors are much brighter & more vivid in real life.

5 Stars Kept her attention so I could get things done!!!
I love this gym because it keeps her attention for at least 15 minutes. That’s long enough for me to get dinner started, do a 15 minute pickup around the house or take a shower. All things I have trouble doing without occupying my 4 month old. I set one of the rattling toys on the side panel and she loves moving that with her hand. The light up/musical ladybug is a big hit too!

I bought mine at a consignment shop for half the price, in the package and it looks like new!

5 Stars Great!
We bought this jumper when my daughter was 4 1/2 months old. She LOVES it! Keeps her occupied for 20-30 minutes at a time. And I love it because it folds down when she’s done using it.

1 Star Stupid Keyboard
After looking around at many different jumpers, I liked the features best on this one. When it arrived, it was easy to put together. I was excited. Well, it went downhill from there! I had read about the keyboard problems, but since most were from 2008 I thought that surely the problem had been fixed…WRONG! My son used this for 2 days about 5-10 minutes each time and the keyboard no longer works. I am extremely upset. Also, it says that it comes with 10 connector rings….NOPE…I only received 7. And finally in the picture on the right side is a caterpillar with buttons to push and turn. I did not get that on mine, I got two little rings to hang toys on. Very disappointed and will be returning to buy another product. DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! GET SOMETHING ELSE.

1 Star Potentially unsafe plastic!
When my baby started chewing on the teether toys that are part of this jumper (the yellow sun and the bead chaser) I wrote to the company to make sure these toys don’t contain BPA and other harmful chemicals. I could not get a straight yes or no answer from Kids II who actually manufacture this product. All I got is that “the materials in our products meet global phthalate and BPA requirements”, a remarkable statement given that, to the best of my knowledge, there are no such global requirements (every country has their own widely varying safety standards, and the US regulations in particular are ridiculously out of date with the current research that suggests that even small amounts of BPA are harmful). This leads me to believe that the plastic is indeed unsafe. The company has lost my trust — I will no longer buy any Baby Einstein products.

5 Stars I wish I had this long ago…
As some one who isn’t familiar with tools, I was totally relieved that this did not require any tool use.

I bought this for my son, who is my second child. He was using an exersaucer that belonged to my daughter. I’ve always been annoyed by all the noise the exersauser caused when my child bounced around in it, so I needed something a bit more quieter.

I was planning on buying those old classic jumpers until I saw this was recommended.

I am very pleased! My Son is having a lot of fun. I had just a minor trouble of putting it together, but it was simple…

I’m most pleased that you have hieght options.

Anyway, I can hear the tv now that I got rid of the old saucer

4 Stars Lots of fun but some changes called for
My wife and I looked around a lot to find a fun activity center for our daughter. From the first, she has loved this jumper. Some other reviewers have complained about the piano keys sticking. There is a very simple solution to this. Our daughter went through the same drooling phase and when the keys started sticking, I took the piano section off, took out a screwdriver and removed the orange cover. I then used q-tips and rubbing alcohol to clean off any sticky keys and voila, the piano was working fine again.

Pros:

1. Loops for hanging other toys, chains or rings

2. Good swivel seat

3. Easy adjustment for height

4. Music from the piano is much nicer than Musak

5. Sturdy no matter how wild the bouncing gets

Cons:

1. Frog toy left impressions on her head when she leaned against it to look in the mirror. Recommend ditching the frog and replacing it with 2 or 3 interesting wire loops to slide the rings along.

2. The empty side just has this boring sun. Recommend taking the mirror from the froggy side and putting it there along with the sun, leaving the new ring loops on the opposite side.

All in all, she loves it and it has held up to her bouncing around like a bucking bronco. Each day when we ask her if she wants to play in her jumper she gets so excited. Love it.

5 Stars GREAT TRAVEL ENTERTAINMENT!!
GOT THIS FOR MY GRANDCHILD. THEY TOOK IT ON VACATION TO THE BEACH. WELL MADE AND LOTS OF ACTIVITY FOR HER.

5 Stars favorite
This is my babies favorite toy. I don’t know how many times it’s given me an extra second to heat up a bottle or grab a diaper when she’s fussy. She loves to look at the octopus and smile back at him. I think she’ll probably carry him around when she’s older.

1 Star Misleading Title is Misleading
As I excitedly tore open the package of my brand new Baby Einstein Baby Neptune Ocean Adventure Gym, I thought eagerly of how it might banish the banalities of my everyday. I could almost feel the plush, multi-colored fish beneath my trembling fingertips. It was as if the six classical melodies were already crooning to me as I relaxed on the prop-up whale pillow, my every care melting away. Anticipatory drool began to dribble down my chin as I imagined the On-the-Go plush teething octopus clenched gently between my canines. The thought of detaching him from the gym structure and taking him absolutely everywhere with me was almost more than I could stand; we would be inseparable. I knew that next week’s arrival of Jacque, the Lamaze Peacock, would complete this blissful outfit. And at only 34.5 x 31 x 19, it was sure to fit in my cubicle at the office.

When the box arrived, I asked my secretary to hold my calls for the day so I could spend some quality time with my new entertainment center. The website assured me that my soft activity gym would “come to life with the crisp and colorful real life scenery of the sea.” I took it out of the box immediately and followed the minimal assembly instructions, anticipating a mind-expanding voyage into the deep. With bated breath, I laid my head upon the whale pillow and waited. Turning my face to the side, I screamed in horror at the sight of my sagging, weary face, caught in the flash of the baby-safe, fish-shaped mirror.

Nobody told me a mirror came with this thing. And I don’t own mirrors for a reason. Last summer, my girlfriend found me locked in my bathroom, staring at the mirror while repeatedly slapping my cheeks and screaming the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody over and over in the shrillest tone I could muster. They had to break down the door and drag me out, shortly after which Wanda dumped me for our mailman. I haven’t looked in a mirror since. But I digress.

The point is, folks, that I’ve had adventures, and I’ve been to the ocean. And this product, though promising both, offers neither upon arrival. Promotes trilingual learning? More like trilingual horror. I’m sending this goddamn octopus and his cronies back from whence they came.

5 Stars Entertaining
This is much more entertaining than some of the other themes I have seen out there. It has much more for the baby to do and look at and interact with. There is music (which you can detach that piece and use on the crib) and lights and the big whale with lots of places to hang different things and switch it up. Gotta have this. Don’t always go for just the things that LOOK cute. This looks cute and gets the job done!

5 Stars We’re having a blast!
The baby einstein gym has been really helpful with baby’s tummy time and early development. She especially likes the mirror and octopus attachment. I appreciate how helpful it’s been setting it up next to my desk as I try to get a few chores done.
