3 Stars wood piece brake easy
the wood has broken around the puzzle and some of the puzzle have brooken and the picture is coming off them as well

3 Stars Pricey & Flimsy Puzzle
I was disappointed in this puzzle. It didn’t seem to be up to Melissa & Doug’s usual high standards. The puzzle pieces were flimsier than I thought they would be, hard to separate and hard to push down into place. However, the artwork is beautiful and I think my 3 yr old will enjoy it in the near future.

4 Stars Great puzzle with minor quality flaws
I really think that M&D do a great job with puzzles for kids. The colors and graphics are pretty and my 2 1/2 year old son loves it. He opened yesterday and spent at least 2 hours playing with it. He even took it to his room because he didn’t want to stop playing and this morning he was ready to take it to school. I just have a minor observation about the low quality of the laminate in some of the pieces. When he tries to pull some of pieces, the laminate starts peeling. I just hope the they don’t come fully apart. He seems to have a blast so I want to order a second one….

3 Stars Beautiful but not durable
We bought this puzzle as a Christmas present for our two year old. The problem with this puzzle was evident as soon as we got it out of the package. While the back of the puzzle is wooden (like other M&D puzzles), the picture was printed on paper and adhered to the wood before the pieces were cut. When we disassembled the puzzle for the first time, we didn’t notice that the puzzle pieces didn’t get gut all the way through the paper, so when we separated the pieces the paper got torn, taking some of the design with it. We were very disappointed, especially considering the quality of product we’ve grown accustomed to receiving when purchasing M&D products. Our son still likes it and plays with it fairly often.

5 Stars Solid, Pretty, Educational puzzle
I got this puzzle for my 3 yr old last week after getting frustrated with a different puzzle from a different brand that was flimsy. This puzzle is nicely made from thick wood. The pieces still stay together unlike the cheaper brands with which we have played. The colors are attractive for a toddler, pretty for an adult, and the puzzle is great for reviewing the names of animals with a toddler.

I plan on ordering similar puzzles from Melissa and Doug in the future.

5 Stars A BIG hit at Easter
The Easter Bunny got this puzzle for my daughter (2 1/2). It was, by far, the toy of choice for her. She loved it and played with it for most of the day. Great, fun toy. Quality was outstanding.

4 Stars Fun Puzzle
My grandaughter is 2yrs old and loves this puzzle. She can name all of the bugs and place them back easily. She says she wants to go bug hunting and then we go.

4 Stars bug fishing puzzle
my daughter loves this puzzle. It helps her coordination and she learns about bugs too. She was 2 when we bought this and now she is approaching 3 and still plays with it.

4 Stars Airplane entertainment
Got this to take on a plane trip to CA for a 2year old. It helped keep her busy and she played with a lot after we got there. Cute and she’s learning the name of some bugs she didn’t already know.

5 Stars Love this Toy
my 21 month old son loves this puzzle, he was able, immediately, to “catch” the pieces and put them back. Worth the money!!!

LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Mr Pencils Learn to Draw and Write

LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Mr Pencils Learn to Draw and Write

Mr. Pencil’s Learn to Draw and Write is a fun new game for your child’s Leapster. This game cartridge holds a series of games that teach drawing and reading, the fun and easy way. Its recommended for ages 4 and above

5 Stars another great leapster game
both of my gradchildren love to play with this game which is at the same time educational.

5 Stars My 5-year-old loves it! Not as picky as some say…
Well- I read the reviews and almost skipped on this one, as my son is easily frustrated, but I am glad I didn’t. The parents who could not satisfy Mr. Pencil’s perfectionism were just doing things in adult-style… writing the letter he asked them to. That is NOT how it works. You must follow each step. For instance… if he shows you how to draw a three and you draw it in one shot… well, that will be considered incorrect. You must make the top curve and stop and then make the bottom curve to complete it as instructed. So if you can already make letters, it will be frustrating. If you are willing to follow the instructions you will find it far more forgiving.

There are also colors to mix and cool pictures to trace. My son simply loves it! Mr. Pencil is kind, but will stop you if you don’t get it after about three tries, with a “let’s try it again later.” Personally, while some people like the idea of trying until they get it right, I think a break may be exactly what’s required. He has yet to try all the features of the game– and I am sure he won’t like it so much when Mr. Pencil draws alongside him and the lines go across his newly drawn artwork — but all he has done so far he is really enjoying. Practicing on the computer screen is more fun for him than doing it on paper.

4 Stars If your toddler REALLY wants to play video games like a big kid…
If your kiddo really wants to play big kid video games but is really to young for wii, xbox and playstation this is the best kids gaming system right now. The buttons are easy and responsive. The games that we own are fun and interesting to my 3 year old and our 6 and 8 year old neighbors. They all provide an educational benefit usually math based/problem solving side. We’ve had it for several months and it is still a lot of fun and is challenging.

The other gaming systems like the v-motion are really lacking in comparison ( my son doesn’t play the v-motion b/c the controller is not responsive and it becomes very frustrating…the lack of responsiveness is due to product development. The graphics are awful. )

It is lacking in graphics and is occasionally too rigid in its requests for some games (You can’t lift the pencil in Mr. Pencil or in chasing zero when the goal is to write a number or letter for example). The graphics could be better the string attaching the stylus could be longer.

5 Stars GREAT Game! Must Have…
What a great game . . . and it’s helping my 3 yr old learn to write his letters! I find him pretending to draw letters with his fingers. He stays focussed on the games and the instructions. Maybe not an ‘exciting’ adventure, but still fun to play (and learn!).

1 Star wrong teaching
My 4 year old loves playing this game, but i found out that they are teaching the wrong stuff to kids. This game teaches kids that the primary colors are Red, Blue and Yellow – which is plain wrong. We all know that Red, Blue, Green are the primary colors. How can a learning game get it all wrong, and that too from Leapfrog which claims emphasis on learning. I cant believe they are getting away with teaching wrong concepts. very disappointed.

5 Stars Great toy
I bought this toy for my 1 year old son to help with his eye and hand coordination and fine motor skills. He absolutely loves this toy and will keep fishing until he catches all the fish in the puzzle. I like the fact that it is very hard to take the puzzle fish out unless you “fish them out” with the supplied magnet fishing pole. A great learning toy for a great price.

4 Stars It is a cute puzzle/fishing game
Our 17-month old enjoys the fishing part a lot, but not ready for the puzzle yet so she can fish out the pieces with the fishing pole but cannot put them back in the right slot. It is very funny to watch her fish as she figured out how to cheat by grabbing the magnet and attaching it to the metal button by hand when she loses her patience to hold the pole steady for the magnet to catch. Hopefully we will get lots of uses out of this toy as she grows into the puzzle part. The toy is rated for 3+ but not sure if it will be too easy to hold her interest by then. It is a very nice game nevertheless and we are glad we got it for her.

3 Stars Not bad….
The price was good, the construction was OK but don’t expect a handcrafted piece of art. The kids like it, it look pretty safe so it keeps them occupied and lets then learn some shapes!

5 Stars Love this Toy
my 21 month old son loves this puzzle, he was able, immediately, to “fish” the pieces and put them back. Worth the money!!!

5 Stars great workout for little minds and hands
Use the pole to fish the fish out then put them back by hand. Coordination, small motor muscle exercise, beautiful to look at, and fun! Kids learn shapes, colors, sorting, matching and think they’re playing. Our only problem was remembering where we put the pole! but you can still use it without. This is beautifully drawn and a lot of fun. We’re glad we got one.
