Fisher Price Imaginext Spike the Ultra Dinosaur

Meet Spike, the dinosaur that kids bring to life at the touch of a button. He walks, he stands on his hind legs, he blinks, his mouth opens and closes, and his spikes even light up. You make it all happen with the easy-to-use remote control! Spike also makes lots of fun sounds, too. He growls, snorts, roars and more. Requires 3 “AA” alkaline batteries, not included. Also uses rechargeable 9.6 Volt NiMH battery, included (a $25 retail value)! Spike stands 27″ tall.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars So much fun!
I bought this for my 3 year old for Christmas…..I did not realize that my husband would be fighting him for the toy! At first, my son was unsure about this “life like dino” but now oh my goodness he loves it! He has picked up very quickly on how to use the remote to control Spike. He loves to leave him on so he can watch him go to sleep (he yawns, opens his mouth, blinks his eyes and then snores)! It was worth the money and I even enjoy making him do tricks…..

5 Stars My nephew loved it!
This was a birthday gift for my 5 year old nephew. According to his dad, “(he) is so in love with his present. He played with it all night last night and again this morning. Definitely a good one.”

2 Stars Buy at your own risk
It was great fun for about three weeks. My son (6 years old) loved it and we didn’t have any issues. Then the mouth stopped working. I started looking at reviews and saw that I actually got more use out of it than most since many reviews noted the mouth stopped working within the first week. We are still playing with it, but for the price I would expect more.

3 Stars Buyer Beware
I purchased this toy for my son on Christmas. He played with it for a couple of days and then its’ mouth stopped opening and closing. I called Fisher Price and they are mailing a new one. I was happy with thier costumer service.

4 Stars My son loved it, until it broke…but….
My 4 year old son wanted this really bad for Christmas. I hesitated because of the price and the fact that he never plays with any toys for very long, but I couldn’t disappoint him. He loved it and played with it everyday for over a month, until the mouth stopped working. I am so glad I read some other reviews to learn this is a common problem and not something he did to break it. I called Fisher Price and they are sending a mailing label for me to return it and they will send a new one. No original box or receipt required! While I’m disappointed that it malfunctioned, I’m very happy, at least at this point, about the customer service. Hopefully we’ll have better luck with the next one.
