1 Star Blast someone’s eye out
My son was totally thrilled with this birthday present (from a friend). Despite our reservations, we let him play with it as long as he never aimed at anything “live.” i.e. a friend, sibling, or animal. Of course, i had my back turned when he used it most recently and he blasted his sister’s eye. Fortunately, the dart did not suction on and she was ok, but that was the end of that…the darts are now in the trash….
4 Stars My son loves it…
My son begged and begged for this and so we bought it for his birthday. He does love it. But the other reviewers are right–the darts are pretty forceful, he hit his sister with one (of course) and she yelled out (though it didn’t leave a mark). And the biggest frustration has been the fact that it only comes with three darts, which were all lost within 48 hours. Now we’re ordering a new bag of Nerf micro darts, but I’m bummed that this toy didn’t specify if those are, in fact, the correct refills. We’re just hoping. Hasbro could have done a better job by either providing more darts or the information on how to get them.
3 Stars Good for Pretend Play
I should’ve looked more closely at the description of this product before purchasing it for more three year old son for Christmas. He really would’ve rather had the blaster make noises. This particular clone trooper blaster comes with nerf foam darts. So, he uses it for pretend play and doesn’t use the nerf darts too much. I imagine an older child (age 7-9)would like the nerf dart aspect more.
3 Stars darts fire forcefully
We purchased two of these for our 4 and 6 year old sons, not realizing that they can fire the darts quite forcefully. We put the darts away, as the potential for an injury was too great. They are perfectly happy using the guns without ammunition.
I feel that this is overpriced due to the Star Wars label.
